“We would discourage anyone receiving these emails from purchasing data.”
UBM, the organiser of Brand Licensing Europe, has taken the step of warning past and present attendees and exhibitors about a spate of unsolicited emails purporting to have attendee lists for sale.
Anna Knight, brand director of BLE, issued the following statement following an enquiry by The Source:
“It has been brought to our attention that several companies are sending unsolicited emails to past and present Brand Licensing Europe visitors and exhibitors offering to sell attendee lists with the implication that this is BLE attendee data.
“These companies are in no way connected to BLE and we would therefore discourage anyone receiving these emails from purchasing this data.
“We would like to reassure you that UBM takes data protection incredibly seriously and we do not sell personal data to any third parties.”
