The eagerly anticipated Despicable Me 3 has become the number one film worldwide this weekend.
The Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment three-quel has now notched up $192.3 million worldwide.
The weekend saw it open in 46 territories, reported Screen Daily, with the film reaching number one in 44 of them. It also moved back to the top in Australia in its third weekend.
In total, the animation is now on screen in 52 territories.
Despicable Me 3 took $75.4 million in the US, while in the UK it opened at number one on $14.7 million (a 56% market share). This set the record as the biggest opening Saturday of all time for an animated film.
In addition, it is the biggest animated movie opening weekend of all time in Argentina, Brazil, Estonia, Latvia, Venezuela and the Middle East.
A further 15 territories will welcome the film in the next two months including China, France, Germany and Trinidad.
