A truly exciting opportunity has opened up for a Brand Manager in a fast growing licensing and consumer products team within the broader Penguin Random House company, managing some of their best known children’s brands including Peter Rabbit, The Snowman, Flower Fairies, Spot and Vintage Ladybird.

Penguin Ventures was created to bring together Penguin’s Licensing, Consumer Products, TV Production, Retail and Live events strategies and to find new ways to tell the world’s favourite stories. Whether that’s finding new audiences for old favourites or creating brand new stories, Penguin Ventures looks to work with best in class partners to bring brands alive. They are now looking for a strategic, vibrant and creative Brand Manager to help them reach the next level.

Within this role, Penguin Ventures is looking for you to:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the strategic brand plans with input from other key stakeholders within the team.
  • Manage all brand marketing activity including the implementation and spend of the annual marketing budget; to include trade advertising.
  • Work with the Brand PR in developing the brand communication plans and tools including brand websites, social media channels and consumer and trade newsletters.
  • Be responsible for the implantation and management of key brand partnerships including brand collaborations and charitable partnerships as well as any and all profile raising campaigns for Penguin Ventures’ properties.


To apply for this role you will ideally be working in a brand role within a consumer products team or in the media and entertainment industry. Experience of working in a small team or a start-up would be highly beneficial. Strong agency management, people management and influencing skills are essential as is the ability to think creatively whilst managing a budget.
