Licensing Executive – Hampton Court Palace

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is a successful, high performing organisation built on strong foundations. An independent charity, they manage the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. HRP helps everyone to explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Business Development team within Retail as we further expand our successful licensing programme.

Your ultimate aim will be to help maximise income by developing commercially branded products with external partners under license. Day-to-day, you will be the first point of contact for existing HRP licensees and will work with them to ensure they are up-to-date with licensed product development plans by managing a product development calendar. To ensure that every product is of a high quality and meets HRP’s tone of voice and brand guidelines, you will liaise with the HRP specialist departments; research historically accurate information, write and proof read copy and research images from our palaces and select artwork from HRP licensed artpack to inspire new design.  In addition you will monitor accurate and timely royalty payments and ensure that standard contractual obligations are being met by each licensee.

You will have the opportunity to travel to trade shows and to assist in identifying potential new licensees as well as promote licensed product and the HRP brand through various PR and Marketing activities associated with product development.

This is a challenging and varied role. Knowledge and experience in the licensing sector is therefore essential and should cover brand and product development. To excel, you will need to be both creative and commercial with a passion for history. You will be a graduate and have a high standard of written and verbal English. Clear communication with an organised approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines will be crucial. You will need to work collaboratively as part of a team with both HRP colleagues and external companies. Microsoft Word and Excel skills are required.
