Aardman Model Making Workshops to run at Festival of Licensing

Festival goers are invited to try their hand at modelling their own Gromit, Shaun the Sheep or Morph.

Festival of Licensing is hosting three special live model making workshops run by Oscar-winning animation studio Aardman Animations, with ambassador and model maker extraordinaire Jim ‘I play with clay’ Parkyn.

Festival goers are invited to grab some clay (try Newplast, Fimo, Play-Doh, Plasticine or even make your own), toothpicks, baby wipes, download the worksheet/s and get ready to model their very own Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, or Morph character/s at these fun, hands-on clay modelling workshops.

What’s more, the workshops come totally stress-free as rookie modellers will have an opportunity to pick up the tricks of the trade from the Aardman studio.

The Aardman Model Making Workshops will take place during Festival of Licensing’s Europe Week (powered by Brand Licensing Europe) which runs online from October 6-8.

Attendees – and families – can access the sessions via the Live Stage tab in the Festival of Licensing platform, then simply scroll to LIVE SESSIONS – EUROPE at these times:

  • Tuesday October 6, 3.30pm to 4.30pm (Gromit)
  • Wednesday October 7, 3.30pm to 4.30pm (Shaun)
  • Thursday October 8, 3.00pm to 4.00pm (Morph)

“We look forward to presenting our classic characters and our new IP at Brand Licensing Europe every year, but with this year’s event going online, we thought we would bring our brands to the show in a fun and interactive way with our expert-led virtual modelmaking workshops,” said Ngaio Harding-Hill, head of attractions and live experiences at Aardman.

“Our live experiences are hugely popular the world over and give our international audiences the opportunity to experience our properties in new and engaging ways. We are looking forward to seeing our fellow industry folk getting creative making Gromit, Shaun and Morph with their families in these hands-on afternoon sessions.”

Shaun

Festival of Licensing is a month-long virtual celebration of the global licensing industry, taking place online from October 6-29, 2020. It is free to attend, but visitors must register to access the content and start booking meetings at www.festivaloflicensing.com.
