A host of UK-based licensing names have been listed among the 2021 Licensing International Excellence Awards nominees.

More than 180 judges from 21 countries had the task of narrowing the record-setting entries to the 150+ finalists across 22 categories.

Notably, the listing includes companies from 23 countries.

Fizz Creations and Kinnerton have both been nominated in the Best Licensed Product Food/Beverage category for the SLUSH PUPPiE & ICEE Maker and Harry Potter Chocolate range respectively, while Blueprint Collections gets a nod for its Van Gogh Museum stationery range in Publishing/Social Expression/Back to School.

H&A (The Simpsons Novelty Bath Line) and Mad Beauty (Friends Bath & Body Essentials) both receive nominations in Health & Beauty Aids, while Hornby has been named in Toys/Games/Novelties/Role-Play (8+) for its The Beatles Eurostar Yellow Submarine Model Train Set.

The Point.1888 lines up alongside Beanstalk, IMG, Pacific Licensing Studio, pocket.watch, Retail Monster, The Joester Loria Group and WildBrain CPLG for Best Agency/Manufacturer Rep, while Born Licensing’s ‘We’re On It’ campaign with Direct Line featuring Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Robocop is in the running for Best Licensed Promotion.

In addition, Acamar Films’ Bing lines up alongside Bluey, Moomin, Naruto, Peppa Pig, Pink Panther and Trolls World Tour for Best Licensed Brand – Entertainment/Character/Toy Brand (Animated).

V&A, meanwhile, is up against the likes of Peter Rabbit, The Rolling Stones and The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Lifestyle: Art/Design/Celebrity/Fashion Brand.

“Despite the many obstacles last year, the global licensing community created innovative products and programmes – including amazing pandemic pivots, that showcase the power of brand licensing,” said Maura Regan, president of Licensing International. “We are thrilled to celebrate these nominees from around the globe for their incredible work and ingenuity, and look forward recognizing ‘the best of the best’ on August 24 at the Licensing International Excellence Awards ceremony.”
