Experience was not befitting of usual high standards we aim for, says brand director.
Brand Licensing Europe has addressed the long wait times that visitors to the show on Tuesday faced on arrival, after a registration system crash, coupled with an increased number of visitors, led to a back-log.
Brand director Anna Knight has apologised for the long wait times in an email to all attendees on day one, saying the experience was “not befitting of the usual high standards we aim for as the show organisers of BLE”.
In a statement, Anna said: “I hope you found your visit to BLE of benefit and you enjoyed the many new features and diverse range of exhibitors on offer.
“We are aware however that on arrival you would have had to wait much longer than you should to enter the show – an experience that was not befitting of the usual high standards we aim for as the show organisers of BLE.
“On behalf of the Brand Licensing Europe team, I would like to personally apologise for this long wait and thank you for the patience you showed.”
Anna explained that the registration system crash when the doors opened combined with the increase in visitor attendance this year, leading to a back-log in visitors which simply could not be cleared quickly enough as more visitors arrived in fully packed trains.
“Overnight we ran a full system check and as a safety net put in additional registration and printer points to ensure this did not happen again. Registration has been very smooth since and we will, of course, continue these initiatives into the 2018 show.
“We value of all our customers at BLE and the show and we sincerely hope that the rest of show was a great experience.”
