Disney teams with Uniqlo for Minnie Mouse collab

Uniqlo x Olympia Le-Tan Minnie Mouse Loves Dots collection to debut this spring.

Fashion retailer Uniqlo has revealed the launch of a special ‘Minnie Mouse Loves Dots’ collection, a new collaboration with designer Olympia Le-Tan.

The range is part of the 2017 spring/summer collection for Magic For All, a partnership with the Walt Disney Company which aims to ‘bring the dreams and excitement of Disney’ to people around the world through clothes.

The collection will be available beginning this spring at Uniqlo stores in 18 countries and regions around the world, as well as online.

Focusing on Minnie’s signature dots and classic vintage blue dress motif, the collection has also been ‘infused with a fantasy world’, created by Olympia.

An original design created specifically for the collection was inspired by the story of Minnie’s making of her own handmade blue dress with the signature dot pattern.

A special Minnie Rocks the Dots event was held in West Hollywood to mark the launch of the collaboration, with the character wearing a dress created by Olympia.

Olympia commented: “I was really excited to work with Uniqlo again. It was fun doing the first collaboration and I was really happy with the result, so doing it again, but this time with Minnie Mouse was such a dream for me.

“For this collection, we created new artwork and a new story but with one of the most popular icons ever. For me that’s really special. We also tried to make it playful and quirky, but classic enough to be wearable by all.”
