First set of titles to launch in the second half of 2018.
Egmont Publishing is teaming up with user-generated social media platform Roblox for a new series of books.
The deal will see Roblox games, characters, worlds, avatars, developers and the community come to life, with the first series of books launching in the second half of 2018.
Emma Cairns-Smith (pictured), head of global acquisitions at Egmont Publishing, said: “Roblox resonates with its millions of fans in a deep and powerful way and we believe that our outstanding publishing programme will build that relationship even further.
“As the number one publisher of gaming titles for children and young adults, Egmont is thrilled to welcome the largest social gaming platform in the world to its list of partners.”
Silvia Figini, vp global licensing at Egmont Publishing, added: “We are extremely glad to be a partner of Roblox in this new project, which is the perfect next step of the Egmont global strategy for licensed publishing and we look forward to working with Roblox to deliver the first titles next year.”
David Baszucki, founder and ceo for Roblox, continued: “Our partnership with Egmont will ensure a high quality line of Roblox-based published books that our users have been asking for, and I am excited to be working with such a respected and experienced publisher as we expand our user-generated licensing initiatives in 2018.”
