June 2024: Licensed Home Décor

For the first of our weekly Featuring… newsletters dedicated to licensed home décor, we asked Maura Regan, president and ceo of Licensing International, to give an insight into the upcoming Global Licensing Industry Study 2024 and the latest figures for the sector.

“Inflation and the increasing cost of living across many regions may have informed the way consumers spent their money in 2023, however, the Licensing International Global Licensing Industry Study also shows that when consumers do choose to make a purchase, they are more likely to buy a licensed product.

Licensing International data shows that Non-Profit properties experienced significant growth in 2023, reporting a 19.4% increase. Museums, in particular, contributed to this growth with offerings in a number of categories, including location-based experiences, apparel and home décor. For example, V&A recently launched a second collection with Sofas & Stuff, while the Metropolitan Museum of Art collaborated with Eichholtz to launch home décor, furniture and lighting.” More follows…
