First Amazon non-food store opens in the UK

Amazon has today (6 October) opened its first 4-star shopping experience in the UK.

The new store – situated in the Bluewater shopping centre – will give shoppers the chance to buy a range of around 2,000 of the retailer’s top rated products.

Customers will find displays of items – including consumer electronics, toys, games, books, kitchen and homeware – which are currently rated 4 stars or more, are top sellers or are trending online.

The stock will be rotated on a rolling basis according to its popularity and preferences of local shoppers.

There will also be a table of ‘most wished for’ items, as well as those which have been ‘most gifted’.

Digital price tags are located alongside each product with the item price, average star rating and the number of customer reviews.

There will also be products from small businesses across the UK which prove popular with Amazon customers.

“Every part of the store is designed with our customers in mind and we think they will be delighted by the curated selection of the most-loved products at great prices, opportunity to test drive Amazon’s latest devices, and the convenience of pick-up and returns,” commented Andy Jones, director at Amazon 4-star UK.
