For Art’s Sake eyes up new Sanrio collaboration

Sanrio is collaborating with UK eyewear brand, For Art’s Sake on two unique styles of sunglasses and jewellery gift boxes in selected stores across China.

The London-based brand is paying homage to Hello Kitty with the limited edition collection, which features iconic details and nostalgic shapes. There will be 300 pieces made of each style.

Available in three different colourways, Kitty One and Kitty Two sunglasses are both characterised by distinctive Hello Kitty details. They are accompanied by either a limited edition 18-karat gold-plated eyewear chain or bracelet and come presented in a pink gift box, signed by the character in the form of a golden bow.

The gift box also contains a secret jewellery compartment to conceal the bracelet or eyewear chain, as well as the exclusive Hello Kitty x For Art’s Sake eyewear case.

The collaboration is exclusively available at I.T, PUYI Opticals and Shanghai Code Opticals.

“Welcoming 2022 in style, coinciding with Chinese New Year and the day cupid struck his arrow on a lovers’ holiday (aka Valentine’s Day), we are extremely excited to announce our collaboration with Sanrio centred around the iconic and loveable Hello Kitty,” commented Xiwen Zhang-Makridis, creative director at For Art’s Sake.

“For the past five years, For Art’s Sake has always strived to produce unique designs, handcrafted from luxurious materials, innovative technology and bold details. So it only seemed natural to work with the Hello Kitty team and produce an exclusive and collectable collaboration, one of which features two totally unique styles.”
