George partners with Peppa Pig in support of new Hasbro campaign

George at Asda has partnered with Peppa Pig and Ecologi, offering a range of clothing made from responsibly sourced cotton – through the Better Cotton Initiative – as well as footwear, accessories and toys as part of Hasbro’s Plant with Peppa campaign.

The campaign aims to teach children all about the importance of trees to the world and Peppa Pig’s reforestation programme pledges to plant 10,000 trees, at projects based in England, Wales and Scotland.

A variety of trees including Oak, Maple, Crab Apple, Cherry, Silver Birch and Scots Pine will be planted and families will be able to check their progress at the Plant with Peppa, virtual Peppa Forest on the Ecologi website, where they can click on each tree to find out where they have been planted and how well they are growing.

George’s range will include boys and girls clothing, footwear and accessories, as well as wooden toys and play-sets made with FSC-certified wood from responsibly managed forests.

“We’re very proud to have partnered with Peppa Pig to help support the Plant with Peppa campaign and the planting of 10,000 new trees in the UK,” said Jade Snart, sustainability and compliance expert at George. “All of the products within the range will have a sustainable element to them as here at George we’re committed to doing the right thing by our customers and the planet, by improving the sustainability of our products.”

Catrina O’Brien, retail development director at Hasbro, added: “We’re so pleased to be partnering with George on our Plant with Peppa campaign and proud to be showcasing a range of products made with the planet in mind.

“By planting 10,000 trees here in the UK, Peppa is helping to show that our actions can have a positive impact on future generations. We hope that it gives families an engaging way to learn all about the vital role trees play in the earth’s eco system”.
