Initiative with Intellectual Property Office is part of 40th anniversary celebrations.
Aardman is working with the Intellectual Property Office for a new Cracking Ideas design competition as part of its 40th birthday celebrations.
The initiative aims to get children celebrating the birthday with a range of activities, including creating short films, video clips and pictures featuring key Aardman characters.
Morph, Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Timmy are all featured in three dedicated competitions for the 4-7, 8-11 and 12-16 age groups.
One winning entry in each category will receive a visit from an Aardman expert for model-making workshop sessions and a screening in their school, as well as a multi-user licence for the Animate It software.
The competitions can be entered individually or as a class/group.
The 4-7 group is being tasked with helping Shaun design a birthday present for Timmy, while the 8-11 group has to create the story of Wallace & Gromit’s Birthday Surprise as a storyboard, with the option to turn it into a film.
Meanwhile, the 12-16 group should create a ‘cracking’ short film to wish Aardman happy birthday (with help from Morph if needed).
The competition closes on July 22. Check out www.crackingideas.com for more details.
