Jazwares Game Studio reveals Sony Pictures Consumer Products tie-up

Jazwares Game Studio is collaborating with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to introduce the official Cobra Kai: Karate Legends gaming experience to the Roblox platform.

Launching this summer and timed to coincide with the season six release of Cobra Kai on Netflix, Cobra Kai: Karate Legends on Roblox lets players build and level up their own dojo and train to be the best karate sensei.

The first five seasons of Cobra Kai are now streaming, with the series returning for a sixth and final season with 15 episodes across three parts. Part 1 premiered on 18 July.

Players can explore a large open map set in Cobra Kai’s world of the San Fernando Valley, complete missions to recruit characters from the show to join their dojo, learn epic karate moves, challenge players in tournaments and more.

“Jazwares Game Studio has a proven track record of bringing some of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises to life on Roblox, producing hit games played by tens of millions of fans worldwide and we’re thrilled Cobra Kai: Karate Legends is joining the ranks,” commented Judd Karofsky, executive vice president at Jazwares. “We are huge Cobra Kai fans so we’ve been laser focused on developing an authentic experience with Sony Pictures Consumer Products that captures the heart pounding action of the series and the epic martial arts moves of the characters we know players are going to love.”

Cobra Kai: Karate Legends will also give players the ability to purchase virtual merchandise to dress and style their Roblox avatars. For even more expanded play, the Cobra Kai Johnny Lawrence figure is available for a limited time only in Target stores nationwide and includes an exclusive virtual code to redeem a virtual item.

Stacey Kerr, svp worldwide licensing at Sony Pictures Entertainment, continued: “We’re looking forward to working with Jazwares Game Studio to bring the Cobra Kai universe to a new generation of fans. This collaboration with Jazwares helps us deliver an immersive gaming experience to players that is sure to get fans of the show excited for the next season.”
