Jenny Johnstone reveals first brand at new agency

Jenny opens doors of The Licensing Connection; signs up Ultra Zombies property.

Jenny Johnstone has opened the doors of her own agency – The Licensing Connection – signing up her first brand in the form of Ultra Zombies.

Jenny – who was previously commercial director at CHF Entertainment – will directly manage the UK rights for the brand and will work with Tonico, which represents the brand globally, to coordinate the EMEA licensing activity where it intends to establish a network of agents.

Created by Pablo Henriquez, Peache Brands director, Ultra Zombies is already a hit in its South American domestic market. It has more than 25 licensees and over 160 licensed product lines.

In the UK, Panini is set to lead the way with the launch of its trading card line in late summer.

The launch will coincide with the release of the second Ultra Zombies App, the first having already reported more than one million downloads. Panini has also secured European rights to stickers and mini collectable figurines. From 140+ designs available, Panini will release the first range of 20 x 5cm characters in 2020. Each figurine will have three interchangeable parts.

“We are thrilled to be selected by Tonico to represent Ultra Zombies,” said Jenny. “It is such a graphically strong brand and, in a sector dominated by super heroes, what Tonico has achieved to date is clear testament to its quality.”

Eve Capella, licensing director at Tonico, added: “It is exciting to experience the reaction of licensees when they first see images and content of the Ultra Zombies.

“Ultra Zombies products stand out in retail because they are different and colorful and once you know the story, you want to know more and more of them.”
