Job Overview:

Supporting the Product Development Manager across all product and brand development within the relevant categories to create licensed products, ensuring all products are developed in line with agreed targets and business plans, and within agreed timeframes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong all-around creative knowledge. Experience working within the video game industry or with entertainment brands would also be beneficial.

Exquisite Gaming Ltd. is a global Gaming and Entertainment focused consumer products company, securing global licenses from the world’s biggest brands, manufacturing and distributing its own bespoke range of products to retailers and distributors around the world.

The main aspects of your role as Product Developer are:

 

Primary Responsibilities

Brand & Product Development

  • Product Analysis – (Phase 1) Responsible for utilising internal and external resources (as required and agreed) for Market Place Research to identify product opportunities. Qualifying functions, features, price points and all other possible USP’s, within any potential product category area.
  • Product Ideation – (Phase 2) Support the Product Development Manager in establishing a product brief for internal sign off, capturing conclusions from Phase 1 and input from the broader teams to establish a clearly defined set of goals for both product and packaging.
  • Product Design and Development – (Phase 3) Support the Product Development Manager with developing finished product concepts. Work with sourcing partners based in China and internal Production Partners to facilitate costing and sampling as required. Support broader teams with relevant images and specs to obtain buy in from external partners.

 

Product Approvals

  • Managing each product through the relevant licensor approval process, from concept to production sample sign off, within the agreed timelines.
  • Maintaining regular contact with Licensor PD counterparts and updating the wider business groups with any relevant updates to licensing strategies.
  • Act as a point person for the approval of licensed products for assigned categories and licensees, ensuring that products align with brand guidelines and use only art assets provided.

 

Product Management and Future Planning

  • Develop each specific product brief, including all measurements, materials, target prices, packaging requirements, product testing requirements and delivery timelines to be discussed and agreed with Production Management and Supply Chain teams to implement.
  • Responsible for maintaining all live product range plans on the relevant EXG systems (Zoho & Monday).

 

Additional responsibilities 

Work with licensors to guide the development and production of a compelling product that best represents EXG at retail.

  • To represent the company at relevant industry and trade events.
  • To keep up to date with all the latest market and product trends and feeding this back to the wider team.
  • Working with and supporting as required, the broader teams including, finance, sales and marketing, procurement and logistics and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in related field is preferred.
  • At least 2/3 years experience within the consumer goods industry.
  • Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suit and Microsoft Publishing is preferred.
  • A strong eye for visual composition and attention to details.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with product tracking tools and software.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to communicate within all levels of the organisation as well as with external partners, vendors and licensors.
  • Must have excellent track record of product ownership and keeping project timelines on schedule and/or communicating to correct teams when deadlines are in danger of being missed.
  • A great can-do attitude with the want to grow and develop within the team.
  • Demonstrable previous experience working with licensed products or brand management
  • Passion for video games and the entertainment industry is a plus.
