Joules spends Christmas with Wallace & Gromit

Lifestyle brand teams with Aardman’s iconic duo to mark 30th anniversaries.

Lifestyle brand Joules has teamed up with Aardman and its iconic duo, Wallace and Gromit, for its Christmas 2019 campaign.

The collaboration marks both Joules and Wallace and Gromit’s 30th anniversaries.

The 40-second ad spot sees Wallace bringing his special inventive touch to the festive period… with some consequences for Gromit.

The bespoke Joules x Wallace & Gromit advert has been directed by Aardman’s Merlin Crossingham, creative director of Wallace & Gromit in the traditional time-honoured method of stop-motion animation.

A selection of Joules’ bestsellers and most-loved products were recreated in miniature by Aardman’s model makers to take pride of place in the scene. Complete with Crown Joules boxer shorts on the fireplace and the renowned wellington boots, sported in great style by Gromit himself.

You can check out the ad spot below:

“We’re thrilled to have secured a partnership with a retail brand over the festive period, especially in the duo’s 30th year,” said Rachael Peacock, brand manager for Wallace & Gromit at Aardman. “The British heritage of Joules and Wallace & Gromit is undeniable, so we’re delighted to collaborate on this charming campaign brought to life with brand new animation.”

Tom Joule, founder of Joules, added: “With Wallace & Gromit and Joules both celebrating our 30th birthdays, it was an easy decision to spend Christmas together.

“We’re delighted to have such British icons wear Joules and star in our Christmas advert and hope it will bring a little festive cheer to all of those who watch it. We’ve got a superb range of both classic and festive clothing and homeware gifts for all the family – including for Gromit and all of our canine chums.”

Indeed, inspired by the collaboration with Wallace and Gromit, Joules has created a ‘cracking’ Christmas jumper for women, men, children and even the dog, based on the design which is worn in the ad.

Joules is also running a Christmas competition on its website to win a number of prizes. These include a family stay in the Joules Suite at Another Place, The Lake; a signed Wallace & Gromit illustration from Nick Park; a hamper from the Friends of Joules worth £1,000; a Joules DFS Windsor sofa worth over £1,000; and Joules vouchers worth £1,000.

Five runners up will each receive a Wallace & Gromit commemorative coin from The Royal Mint.
