Licensed names honoured at Toy Industry Awards

Nickelodeon named Licensor of the Year; PAW Patrol, Pokémon among brand winners.

Several key licensed character brands were among the winners at last night’s Toy Industry Awards.

It was a big night for Nickelodeon with the company picking up Licensor of the Year.

In addition, Spin Master’s PAW Patrol Vehicles was awarded Preschool Toy of the Year, a category it also won in 2017 with its PAW Patroller.

Spin Master was also triumphant in the Collectable Range category – being awarded for its Hatchimals Collegtables – while it was also named Supplier of the Year.

Meanwhile, the resurgent Pokémon brand helped Esdevium to win the Pocket Money Toy of Year with its Pokémon Cards.

L.O.L Surprise from MGA – which has a burgeoning licensing programme – was named Toy of the Year.

Other big winners included Rubik’s Cube from John Adams (Retro Toy of the Year), Argos (General Multiple Retailer of the Year) and Smyths (Online Toy Retailer of the Year).
