Miffy Art Parade auction raises over €500,000

Funds raised from sell off of 43 statues will go to UNICEF education projects.

An auction of 43 of the 60 Miffy Art Parade statues has raised more than €500,000 for UNICEF education projects.

The statues were auctioned off in the Rijksmuseum on October 8, under the auspices of auctioneer Jop Ubbens of Christie’s. They are now on their way to various locations, having been purchased by private buyers, companies and museums in the Netherlands and elsewhere.

The Miffy Art Parade was conceived by World of Delights and Mercis, and was organised in celebration of Miffy’s 60th anniversary.

A further 15 statues that were decorated by Japanese artists will be touring Japan until the end of 2016, after which they will also be auctioned.
