Mobile game debut for Rovio’s Hatchlings

Baby birds take starring role in Angry Birds Match game.

Rovio Entertainment’s Hatchlings are to make their mobile game debut in the company’s latest release.

Angry Birds Match – developed by Rovio’s internal Match Studio – sees the baby birds take a starring role for the first time.

The game is a spin on the match 3 puzzle games, with the emphasis on discovering the Hatchlings and dressing them up in stylish party outfits.

There are 1,000+ levels taking place across eight worlds, with 50 Hatchlings to meet. Angry Birds Red, Chuck and Bomb also make an appearance.

Heini Kaihu, head of Match Studio at Rovio Entertainment, commented: “Angry Birds Match is a great example of the next generation puzzle games we think the audience wants to play, and what Rovio’s Match studio is striving for.”

Teemu Hämäläinen, product lead for Angry Birds Match, added: “We knew right away that a game centered on the Hatchlings and the Blues was a no-brainer after their great reception in the Angry Birds Movie and subsequent The Blues animated shorts.”
