Now RSPB adds bird friendly coffee to menu

Brands with Influence secures new deal with Bird & Wild as licensing drive continues to soar.

Brands with Influence is continuing to add new partners to the RSPB licensing programme – with the latest being coffee brand, Bird & Wild.

Bird & Wild – which is a Certified Fairtrade, Organic, Shade Grown and Smithsonian Bird Friendly coffee brand – launched its products during the summer at several consumer events and select retailers.

As part of the deal it will donate a percentage of all sales of its ethical coffees to the RSPB.

Guy Wilmot, brand manager at Bird & Wild, said: “I’ve worked in coffee importing and roasting for over ten years and the industry and public alike are increasingly aware and concerned about the ethical, environmental and sustainable practices involved with coffee production.

“We are thrilled to partner with the RSPB, supporting the protection of migratory birds, with our donations helping to protect and conserve bird life and other wildlife.”

Guy continued: “We are delighted that our first retail customer will be Ocado from November 2017 for both of our Bird & Wild blends (ground and whole bean) totalling four SKUs.

“Ocado is the retail leader in organic foods in the UK, so it was the ideal first choice for launching Bird & Wild Coffee, which is triple certified – Fairtrade, Organic and Smithsonian Bird Friendly.”

The deal follows hot on the heels – or should that be wings? – of Wild Republic securing the licence to create soft toy birds with sound.
