Penguin Ventures serves up tasty treat with Café Rouge

French bistro is launching The Snowman limited edition festive afternoon tea.

Penguin Ventures has teamed up with French bistro Café Rouge for a festive themed treat in the form of a limited afternoon The Snowman afternoon tea.

The Snowman™Afternoon Tea at Café Rouge features three tiers of delicious treats inspired by the classic story. It includes a festive take on Rouge’s signature Croque served with pigs in blankets; ‘snowy’ scones – dusted with icing sugar and served with white chocolate buttons, strawberry jam and clotted cream; moreish S’mores marshmallow chocolate cheesecake topped with orange zest, Christmassy carrot cake; and white chocolate mousse topped with a white chocolate ‘snowball’.

It is priced at £29.95 for two with hot drinks or £34.95 with a glass of ‘magical’ Prosecco each. It is available until January 5.

“The Snowman Afternoon Tea at Café Rouge perfectly captures the festive spirit of the classic story and it tastes absolutely delicious, too,” said Izzy Richardson, head of brand management at Penguin Ventures. “Guests are in for a wonderful treat and we hope that many magical memories are made in this special celebratory year for Café Rouge.”

Jaci Fletcher, head of marketing at Café Rouge, added: “We really wanted to create a festive experience for guests who love afternoon tea and who love The Snowman. By teaming up with Penguin Ventures, we’ve managed to capture precious Christmas memories and give them back to guests in the form of something edible.

“When I think of Christmas, I think of The Snowman and I’m sure I’m not the only one! A firm Christmas favourite for young and old, Penguin Ventures celebrated 40 years of The Snowman last year, and with Rouge celebrating their 30th this year too, it was the perfect time to partner to do something for the festive season.”
