New deal will include raft of SmileyWorld titles, with first arriving this autumn.
Smiley enjoyed a successful Licensing Expo, securing a deal with Scholastic for a range of SmileyWorld publishing for the UK and Ireland.
The deal covers sticker and activity books, as well as interactive journals and other titles aimed at tweens and teens.
The new partnership – scouted by Scholastic’s Maya Marai – will aim to highlight SmileyWorld’s key values of self-expression and emotional development for children through the archive of visual content and dictionary of icons.
The Smiley Scholastic titles will be published by Elizabet Scoggins, licensing and non fiction publisher, with the first book due to launch in the autumn across the UK and Ireland.
Lori Heiss, vp brand strategy toys, publishing, digital, FMCG at Smiley, said: “Smiley is thrilled to be partnering with Scholastic, a leading publisher for innovative and exciting children’s books the world over.
“We are looking forward to creating titles which will spread smiles across the UK by bringing to life the core SmileyWorld brand values of self-expression and happiness.”
