Spot to star in Sport Relief 2020 nursery campaign

Penguin Ventures and Comic Relief reveal charity collaboration for 2020.

Penguin Ventures and Comic Relief have revealed a charity collaboration which will see Spot star in the next Sport Relief nursery fundraising campaign.

The activation will launch in 2020, which is also the 40th anniversary year of the original Where’s Spot? picture book by Eric Hill.

The nursery activation will reach 15,000 nurseries across the UK.  Fundraising packs will arrive in nurseries in January 2020 and will include fundraising activities and games themed around Spot’s adventures, while a dedicated nursery area of the Sport Relief website will be Spot branded and allow nurseries to order packs directly.

The collaboration will launch on September 23 when Sport Relief begins to engage nurseries in the upcoming campaign, asking them to fundraise between March 9-13. The money raised will support projects funded by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and internationally.

“Spot has been a firm favourite with preschoolers and their parents for the past 40 years and we are delighted that nurseries across the UK will be encouraging kids to get active with Spot from March 9-13, 2020,” said Sarah Hulands, junior brand manager at Penguin Ventures. “This partnership is the perfect way to kick off our 40th anniversary celebrations.”

Terry Mills, head of partnerships at Comic Relief, added: “We are incredibly excited to have the much-loved Spot on-board for our Sport Relief 2020 campaign.

“This new collaboration will really help us engage our youngest audience to get active, have fun and feel good.”
