Swim the English Channel in aid of The Light Fund

Major challenge spearheaded by Stephen Gould revealed for 2022, with execs from ViacomCBS, Poetic Brands and Spin Master already on board.

A new major challenge in aid of The Light Fund has been confirmed for 2022.

Being organised by Stephen Gould, the English Channel Relay Swim will be taking place between June 30 and July 3, 2022.

Stephen (pictured on one of his previous open water swimming challenges) is looking to put together two teams of six swimmers from the licensing industry.

Eager executives already signed up include Simon Gresswell (SGLP), Anne Bradford (Poetic Brands), Mark Bezodis (Perry Ellis International), Mark Kingston (ViacomCBS), Elliott Matthews (Poetic Brands), Anna Hewitt (Spin Master), Ian Down (Keystone Law) and Stephen.

Leaving from Dover Harbour, each swimmer will swim for an hour in a fixed order rotation, repeating until the French coast is reached.

Interested? Well, you must be able to swim (front crawl) a mile in a pool comfortably in 30 minutes or less, and be ready to take on hazards including the cold, marine life such as jellyfish and sharks, plus potential sea sickness.

And you’re only allowed a swim suit, silicone hat and a pair of goggles (when in the water).

Cost is approximately £750 per swimmer.

There will be a two hour qualifying swim in water of 16 degrees or less and a full medical assessment.

Still interested? Well, good for you – Stephen is your man with all the details and he can be contacted by clicking here.
