Three-year deal is aimed at increasing participation in the FA National Futsal Programme.
The FA has kicked off a three-year partnership with The Pokémon Company International.
The aim of the tie-up is to ultimately increase participation in the FA National Futsal Programme, reports SportIndustrybiz.
The Pokémon Company International will work with The FA to bring the partnership into schools, with The FA’s National Youth Futsal Festival due to take place in May 2020.
There will also be support for the England men’s national Futsal team.
Futsal is an indoor variant of football, played with a harder, smaller ball designed to bounce less than a normal one.
“Pokémon is an instantly recognisable brand across the world and we are excited to work together to encourage young players, of all abilities, to play the game of Futsal,” said Dan Kiddle, head of commercial partnerships at The FA.
