Trolls Truck Tour takes over retail

Retail events play key role in franchise strategy for Trolls, says Universal’s Hannah Mungo.

The DreamWorks Trolls Truck Tour has kicked off this week, taking in select The Entertainer, Toys R Us, Smyths and Tesco locations across the UK.

The 17-metre+ truck began its tour of 13 retail stops on August 19 – at Toys R Us in Glasgow’s Helen Street – and will continue through until Thursday August 31 (in Tesco’s Watford Extra).

As you might expect, the Trolls Truck is packed full of ‘hair-rific’ activities for fans to enjoy.

These include a cupcake decorating station, crafting tables. a chance for children to Trollify themselves in Poppy’s Salon, a visit to Branch’s bunker and more.

Hannah Mungo, country director UK & Ireland consumer products at Universal Brand Development, told The Source: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing the Trolls truck tour to children across the UK this summer.

“Interactive retail events like this play a key role in our franchise strategy for Trolls to sustain our licensing programme and delight fans of all ages.”

Remaining locations on the Trolls Truck Tour include Smyths, Salford (August 22); The Entertainer, Lincoln (August 23); The Entertainer, Burton Upon Trent (August 24); Toys R Us, Coventry (August 25); Toys R Us, Swindon (August 26); Smyths, Slough (August 28); The Entertainer, Staines (August 29); Tesco, Lakeside (August 30); and Tesco Watford Extra (August 31).
