Year-long global celebration marks Tom and Jerry’s 85th

Warner Bros. Discovery is marking 85 years of Tom and Jerry with a year-long anniversary celebration.

The activity will kick off with products, experiences, TV programming and more, with a raft of licensees and partners getting involved.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s own WB Shop will unveil a new Tom and Jerry 85th anniversary collection from 24 February including apparel and homewares.

Meanwhile, licensees launching special product and collaborations will include Boyhood, CACO, CASETiFY, Cetaphil, Converse, Funko, Havaianas, Jada Toys, Loungefly and Tully’s Coffee to name just a few.

Networks across the globe – including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito and Max – will also be airing fan-favourite Tom and Jerry episodes and films.

Across the UK, Boomerang channel is celebrating Tom & Jerry all month long with a ‘We love Tom and Jerry’ takeover taking place now to 2 March. Audiences can enjoy back-to-back programming blocks every day featuring Tom & Jerry in New York and The Tom & Jerry Show, and weekday showcases of themed ‘best of’ Tom & Jerry blocks at 8am, 3pm and 5pm. During the February half-term (17-23) audiences will be treated with daily airings of Tom & Jerry movies at 9am and 5pm. From 1 February to 31 March, Sky and Virgin customers can also find Enhanced Boxsets On Demand, featuring The Tom and Jerry Show and Tom and Jerry in New York. Now TV customers will able to access Tom & Jerry themed character rails and Themed Boxsets in the platforms’ Kids Experience, such as Best of Tom, Best of Jerry, Best Chases, Best Pranks, Best Travels and Best Detectives.

In addition, global experiences will include chefs from Warner Bros. Discovery’s Arabic food channel Fatafeat collaborating with Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, to break a world record in celebration of the anniversary; a Tom and Jerry exhibition in Japan; and a pop-up cheese event in China among others.
