Brands ready to shine at Kidtropolis

The Next Step, Sooty, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat among those set for consumer event in October.

Toys, games and family brands event Kidtropolis is due to return this October – with a host of licensed names already signed up to appear.

The consumer event will run from October 23-26 at London’s ExCeL, with the aim being to celebrate childhood brands, from decades old favourites through to the must-have toys and gadgets today.

It made its debut last year, with over 18,500 visitors flocking through the doors over the course of three days.

This year, brands already signed up to make an appearance include Postman Pat and Jess the Cat – which will be bringing a ‘Special Baking Service’ mini show to Kidtropolis – while Fireman Sam will be celebrating the brand’s 30th anniversary and Sooty, Sweep and Soo will be appearing with TV’s Richard Cadell.

In addition, Bungle, Zippy and George will be marking Rainbow’s 45th anniversary at the event, while stars from The Next Step will be bringing the TV show to life with two performances each day.

Music brand Kidz Bop – which records child-friendly versions of today’s hits by kids – will be hosting a special live performance, while street dance sensations Flawless will appear along with comedian Julian Clary and illustrator David Roberts, who will introduce visitors to new series, The Bolds.

In addition, Kidtropolis will also be giving families the chance to choose two live shows to watch during their visit. There will be 15 to pick from including The Basil Brush Show, Marvin’s Magic and Octonauts to name a few.

Gemma Gallagher, director of brand relations at Kidtropolis said: “We are thrilled to be bringing such an amazing proposition to consumers and brands at Kidtropolis 2017.

“We’ve packed the event with live shows, much loved brands and unique activities. Consumers won’t find this much variety of fun all under one roof, anywhere else in the UK.

“Kidtropolis is going to be very special this year.”
