Fashion UK unites with local charities

Licensee partners with three regional based charities to raise awareness for local causes.

Childrenswear apparel licensee Fashion UK has partnered with three regional based charities in a bid to raise awareness for local causes.

The Leicester-based company has been taking part in a variety of different activities to show its support for Big Difference Company, Alex’s Wish and the Leicester Riders Foundation.

Through a series of events, including a theatre production and a coffee morning, Fashion UK has already raised over £3,000 for Alex’s Wish, which raises vital funds to help find treatments and a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

It is also aiming to raise £10,000 for Big Difference Company, which runs Leicester Comedy Festival. As part of its commitment to the charity, Fashion UK aims to host a variety of events throughout the year, including a comedy workshop hosted by 12 members of the team.

Meanwhile, the Leicester Riders Foundation is the charitable arm of national champions Riders. Fashion UK has teamed up with three of the young boys and girls Riders basketball teams, who will each be sporting the Fashion UK logo on their kits for two seasons.

Fashion UK is also organising a Valentine’s Ball, which will take place on Saturday February 10. Fashion UK and Alex’s Wish are hoping to attract 600 guests to the event and raise a further £5,000.

Gurdev Mattu, md of Fashion UK, commented: “We’re proud to be associated with such brilliant local charities. All of the team here at Fashion UK are eager to give back to the community and will help worthy causes in any way they can.

“We can’t wait to contribute further to our partners and get involved with future projects.”
