Minecraft Guides join Egmont’s portfolio

Four new titles to launch in 2017, replacing original handbook series.

Egmont is expanding its successful publishing programme for the Minecraft series, with four new titles launching this spring.

The new Minecraft Guides will replace the original handbook series, according to a report on The Bookseller.

The Minecraft Guide to Creative and Minecraft Guide to Exploration will launch on June 1, and will focus on building structures in the game and showing players how to defend themselves respectively.

Minecraft Guide to Redstone (focusing on engineering) and Minecraft Guide to the Nether and the End (a new terrain in the game) will arrive in September.

Further titles are planned for 2018 and 2019.

“These new titles will explore new topics in depth for players at different stages in their Minecraft journey [and] will form a key plank of our publishing for the next three years,” John Packard, publishing director for brands and licensing at Egmont Publishing, was quoted on The Bookseller.
