Second Peter Rabbit movie confirmed

Penguin Random House UK and Sony Pictures to collaborate on sequel to hit movie.

With the first film having notched up over £268m at the global box office earlier this year, Penguin Random House UK and Sony Pictures Entertainment are teaming up for Peter Rabbit 2.

The new movie will be backed by a worldwide licensing and consumer products campaign, with Penguin Ventures managing the licensing programme in UK and Eire, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Peter and his sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail and his cousin Benjamin will all return in the new movie, which is pencilled in for release in the US in February 2020 and in the UK on March 27, 2020.

“We are excited to be collaborating with Penguin Ventures again and continue our success from the first film,” enthused Jamie Stevens, evp worldwide consumer products at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Susan Bolsover, licensing and consumer products director at Penguin Ventures, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Sony Pictures Entertainment again and look forward to expanding our successful licensing and consumer products programme for this second movie.”
