Squid Game, Bridgerton, WandaVision among Google’s most searched for 2021

Google has unveiled its Year in Search 2021 – with a number of brands familiar to the licensing and consumer products industries making an appearance.

The annual search trends list is split into categories including movies, news, people, games and food among others.

The most searched for overall term during 2021 was Australia vs India, closely followed by India vs England and IPL thanks to cricket fans.

Netflix South Korean hit, Squid Game was the most searched TV show, followed by Bridgerton, WandaVision, Cobra Kai and Loki.

The sports teams category was topped by Real Madrid, followed by Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, while Euro 2021 was also the fifth most searched for overall term.

In the movies category, Eternals came out on top, with Black Widow in second and Dune in third.
