Striker Entertainment marking 40 years of The Evil Dead

Leading up to the 15 October anniversary of the film’s original theatrical release, the company is planning a host of activity.

A host of activity is being planned to mark the 40th anniversary of cult horror classic, The Evil Dead this year.

In celebration leading up to the 15 October anniversary of the film’s original theatrical release, fans will have been able to enjoy activations including a livestream, ticketed Evil Dead watch party that featured commentary from Bruce Campbell, who, along with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, was one of the founders of Renaissance Pictures.

Striker Entertainment – which has been building up the licensing roster for the past couple of years – will continue to support the film with new partnerships.

“The Evil Dead is in the pantheon of the greatest cult horror movies ever made, and it has been a career highlight to work with the legendary filmmakers and producers including Sam, Rob and Bruce,” commented Striker Entertainment’s Russell Binder. “The appetite for The Evil Dead merchandise continues to rise, and Striker has been diligent in listening to the fans and finding partners who will service the enthusiasm with products and experiences that continue to fan a flame of the enduring horror franchise.”

A new original video game for consoles and PC is due to launch from Diversion 3, featuring 40 years of Evil Dead lore and iconography in one collection. For the first time ever, the Evil Dead universe comes together in an over-the-top experience starring boomstick-brandishing, chainsaw wielding horror hero Ashley J.

To complement the game release, a new line of Evil Dead licensed merchandise will be introduced with categories including apparel, collectables and puzzles among others.

Partners signed up include Dark Horse Comics, Beeline Creative, Creepy Company, Fright-Rags, Funko, Messed Up Puzzles, National Entertainment Collectables Association and Redbubble among others.
