The B&LLAs 2021: Brand Ambassador of the Year

Having made a “fantastic contribution” to the brand licensing community over many years, Daniel Avener – ceo of MDR Brand Management – was honoured at this week’s Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards with the special Brand Ambassador of the Year accolade.

Daniel (pictured after accepting his trophy) began his licensing career as a sales executive at Copyright Promotions, earning the nickname King Threepack for the numerous deals he did on the road for three packs of socks and pants.

He then played an integral role in the launch of TLC, embracing the then embryonic brand licensing arena and eventually expanding his role to include overseas responsibilities, which saw him relocate to New York for a period of time.

In 2018, MDR Brand Management made its debut as the brand licensing arm of revered law firm Mischon de Reya, with Daniel as its ceo.

The new venture made rapid progress and, with a raft of new clients, MDR was responsible for delivering $1.6 billion in retail sales in the last year, while its reach has significantly expanded with the opening of three offices in India and by acquiring Click Licensing Asia with its offices in eight markets.

“I am completely honoured to receive this amazing award and the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards has become the pinnacle event of brand licensing and continues to grow in strength and importance every year,” Daniel told LicensingSource.net. “MDR was set up three years ago to address the growing complexities that brand owners face in today’s consumer marketplace and the timing of this award marks an important milestone for the company and, more importantly, for our clients and the brilliant and talented team that makes MDR what it is today.

“I am delighted that our clients have chosen to come on this journey with us and we will continue to strive to deliver excellence and a ‘unique brand of brand management’ in the next phase of our development.”
