The Licensing Awards 2019: Licensing International UK Rising Star

Laura Lane, founder and creative director of My Icon Story, is named UK Rising Star 2019.

The very first award handed out at Tuesday night’s Licensing Awards was the Licensing International UK Rising Star 2019, which was presented to Laura Lane, founder and creative director of My Icon Story.

Laura – who has signed five licensing deals in the space of six months at My icon Story – said that it was “an absolute honour” to win the accolade.

“Winning the award for Rising Star is an absolute honour because it’s so personal,” she told Source. “I feel privileged to be part of such a creative, inspiring and innovative industry and I’d like to thank all the individuals and brands teams who have given My Icon Story a chance.

“This award is has given me a real confidence boost and I’ll definitely be dining out on this one for a while!”

Laura was presented with her award by Ryan Beaird, operations and marketing manager at Licensing International UK, plus two members of the YPN committee, WBCP’s Tasmyn Knight (winner of the award in 2018) and Nickelodeon’s Alexandra Salisbury.
