Top Trumps joins forces with Art & Hue

Brand will mark 40th anniversary with special pop art collection.

To mark 40 years of Top Trumps – and with the World Cup starting on June 14 – Art & Hue has launched a special pop art collection inspired by the retro football packs of the classic game.

One of the first packs of Top Trumps issued was for the 1978 World Cup to coincide with the tournament taking place.

Art & Hue delved into the archives to create 12 stylish pop art prints inspired by football packs of the classic card game, all available in a choice of three sizes and 27 colour options.

There are six prints reworking the cover cards of six football packs, including World Cup editions and British footballers, along with six prints featuring teams who qualified for the 1990 World Cup, as well as this year’s competition.

“We are absolutely delighted to be working with Art & Hue on this collection,” said Hannah Sweeney, head of brand partnerships at Top Trumps. “It’s perfect timing with Top Trumps 40th, the World Cup and Father’s Day all coming up.”

Odysseas Constantine, owner and graphic artist at Art & Hue, added: “It’s been a smooth and pleasurable process collaborating with Winning Moves on the Top Trumps pop art collection to create some retro soccer style inspired by the original football packs.”
