Brands line up for 2019 Gift of the Year

Frida Kahlo, Harry Potter, RNLI, Pusheen among the nominees.

The nominees have been revealed for the 2019 Gift of the Year awards, with a number of licences featuring in the shortlist.

The Branded Gift category includes the following:

  • Frida Kahlo Boho Collection – Talking Tables
  • Harry Potter, Monster Notebook – BB Designs Europe
  • RNLI Build Your Own Lifeboat – Clockwork Soldier

In addition to this, Thumbs Up is nominated in the Fashion Accessory category for its Pusheen Cat Headphones.

The shortlist was reached following two judging stages since the competition opened at Harrogate Home and Gift last July. The initial online stage was held in December, with the live judging day following in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter behind closed doors earlier this month. This was attended by judges from Dulex, John Lewis, The National Gallery and industry press.

Judges had the task of choosing from over 1,100 products and 20 categories, with judges saying it was probably the best year yet in terms of product ranges.

The category winners will be announced at a ceremony following the first day of Spring Fair on Sunday, February 3 from 6.30pm in Hall 20.
