Licensing International UK names Rising Star nominees

Six young professionals make shortlist for 2019 accolade, to be presented at The Licensing Awards.

Licensing International UK has today revealed the nominees for the 2019 UK Rising Stars Award.

The accolade is designed to recognise excellence among the junior licensing industry professionals in the UK.

The winner will be announced as part of The Licensing Awards – which takes place at The Grosvenor Hotel on Tuesday September 10 – with all six nominees receiving a free ticket to the event (courtesy of Licensing International).

The 2019 finalists are:

  • Samuel Byard, product development manager, SEGA
  • Oliver Stanton, senior licensing manager, TSBA Group
  • Laura Lane, founder, My Icon Story
  • Sebastian Mather, founder, Beautiful Game
  • Karina Rhoden, junior licensing manager, The Smiley Company
  • Louisa Skevington, licensing coordinator, Rocket Licensing

“We’re really pleased with all the Rising Star award submissions we received on behalf of our junior licensing industry professionals this year,” said Ryan Beaird, marketing and operations manager at Licensing International UK. “In reviewing them all it is clear to us just how many talented, intelligent and highly motivated young people there are in our industry.

“The increase in submissions year on year for this award is evidence of our growing young professionals network here in the UK – something we are very proud of.”

Maura Regan, president of Licensing International, added: “Once again, this year’s Rising Star nominees are incredibly impressive – a sign that our industry is wrought with up and coming talent that is sure to carry our industry well into the future.

“We look forward to celebrating them all and honouring a winner at The Licensing Awards ceremony next month.”

The headline sponsor of The Licensing Awards 2019 is Brand Licensing Europe and the awards are officially supported by Licensing International.
