Mattel rides Lightyear wave with new toy launches

Mattel is celebrating the arrival of the new Disney Pixar Lightyear movie with the launch of a fresh toy collection.

As the master toy licensee, Mattel has unveiled a range which includes action figures, vehicles, role-play, preschool and plush toys.

A key product is the Laser Blade Buzz Lightyear Figure which includes lights and sounds inspired by the movie, which hit cinemas at the weekend.

Fans are able to recreate scenes and signature moves with 13 posable joints on the figure, which comes in his Ranger Alpha suit and stands 11.5-inches tall.

In addition, there is also a Lightyear Blast & Battle XL-15 Vehicle with a Buzz Lightyear pilot figure. It comes with button activated projectile shooters on both sides, four projectiles, a flip-up cockpit cover and pop-down landing gear.

The range also includes the Disney and Pixar Lightyear Zurg figure (which has 13 movable joints), plus the Lightyear Laser Blade DX toy as seen in the movie. Inspired by the vine slashing blade used by Buzz and his team, the 16-inch sword-like blade emits a cool blue light and makes ‘swooshing’ sounds like in the film.
