King Features has named four agents for gaming property Cuphead to help further grow the hit gaming property. Allsorts Licensing is on board to handle the UK and Republic of Ireland, while BN Licensing (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg), Premium Licensing (Italy) and Copyrights Asia (Japan) have also been appointed. The licensing programme for Cuphead is already off to a strong start in the US, with partners on board including Funko, Fifth Sun and Dark Horse Comics among others.

Monopoly is celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles Yellow Submarine with a special edition of the classic game. The edition – which is being distributed by Lasgo in the UK and has been produced by Winning Moves – will see the familiar London landmarks of the original Monopoly replaced with the likes of Nowhere Land, Rainbow Tunnel, Sea of Green, Trombone Express and Mersey Works to name a few, as well as new versions of the Chance and Community Chest squares and cards that say ‘It’s All in the Mind’ and ‘Nothing is real’. The tokens include Old Fred, Sgt. Pepper Drum, Love Sign and, of course, Yellow Submarine among others. The deal was secured by Caroline Mickler.

Titan Comics and BBC Studios have unleashed the latest Doctor Who comic book which sees the Thirteenth Doctor relive her previous incarnations. Entitled Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor Vol. 0 – The Many Lives of Doctor Who, the comic celebrates the Doctor’s many lives and leads directly into Titan’s new Thirteenth Doctor comic series, which is due to launch in the autumn in the UK and the US.

Viacom International Media Networks has appointed Louise Bucknole to the newly created role of vp programming, VIMN Kids.

Jetpack Distribution has acquired the international rights for three UK-produced BBC commissioned live action shows: Bumpybox’s My Petsaurus and Sixth Sense’s Our Family and Time for School.

The third season of Level-5’s Yo-Kai Watch has debuted on Disney XD. In addition, Yo-Kaith Blasters: Red Cat Corps and Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: White Dog Squad games will launch in September for the Nintendo 3DS systems.

Animoca Brands has appointed former Rovio evp of games Wilhelm Taht as a strategic advisor. Animoca Brands publishes and develops a broad portfolio of mobile games and subscription products, and has worked with a number of licences including Garfield and Thomas & Friends.
