The Power Rangers brand is the number one action figure property YTD June 2017 in the UK, according to NPD data. The latest season – entitled Power Rangers Ninja Steel – will debut this autumn on Pop and will be complemented by Bandai‘s new toy range. In addition, three past seasons of Power Rangers will be broadcast on London Live’s new kids’ block, Bounce, over the summer, while Saban Brands is set to launch the official Power Rangers channel on the SuperAwesome kids’ app, PopJam. The Power Rangers movie is also now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

A two-day cinema event will mark the arrival of Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! Taking place on November 5-6, the film will be shown in select international markets, having already won over movie-goers in Japan where it opened at the top of the chart for its first weekend. The Pokémon Company has secured a deal with Fathom Events for international theatrical rights for the movie outside Asia.

Playmobil is to launch ‘play zones’ at a number of Intu shopping centres this summer. Each Intu centre – including Intu Trafford Centre, Intu Lakeside and Intu Metrocentre – will host the branded spaces for a two-week period as part of the summer activity line-up. The themed areas will feature a range of Playmobil toys, while children will have the chance to leave with a free Playmobil gift.

Hasbro marked International Day of Friendship on July 30 with a series of events across the globe, including the launch of its new My Little Pony toy line. The range has been inspired by the upcoming movie and includes the Mane Six as well as a number of new characters.

DHX Media, Technicolor and A Stark Production have secured several new international broadcast deals for CG-animated underwater adventure series, The Deep. Territories including Greece, Norway, Italy, Portugal, the Middle East, Baltics, CEE and Russia among others will all air the show.

The second wave of Roblox toys is due to hit retail in the US this month from Jazwares. The line, which is inspired by some of the most popular games, characters and developers in Roblox’s user-generated universe, will hit shelves at Toys R Us, Target and Walmart.

Condé Nast has secured a multi-year licensing deal with Geneva Watch Group to create a watch and jewellery collection for the Glamour brand. The new line will launch in winter 2018 and will be called Glamour Editor’s Pick.

RCS Mediagroup in Italy is launching the first of a 30-part Popeye comic album series from this weekend (August 4). The comic albums will be published as purchase with purchase inserts to La Gazzetta dello Sport, which has almost four million readers.

Cartoon Network has launched an official podcast exploring the world of Steven Universe.

The Vamps are set to headline Nickelodeon’s Slimefest for two shows on Monday October 23.
