Now Super Mario takes over the Monopoly board

Monopoly is heading to the Mushroom Kingdom with its latest collaboration, teaming up with The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Inspired by the new Nintendo and Illumination animated action comedy, The Super Mario Bros. Movie Edition lets fans explore the Mushroom Kingdom as they buy, sell and trade locations from the Super Mario universe.

Gold coins take the place of Monopoly cash, while the six tokens represent characters and power ups from the movie including Toad’s frying pan, a Super Mushroom and Peach’s crown among others.

Players should beware of Bowser, who can swipe properties, steal coins or send them to jail, while there are also Warp Pipe shortcuts to be discovered and gather or lose coins with Question Blocks and Piranha Plants.
