UK names ready to star at the Licensing International Excellence Awards

The full list of finalists for the Licensing International Excellence Awards has been revealed, with a number of familiar UK names in the running for an accolade.

This year’s Excellence Awards feature 165 finalists from 20 countries in 25 categories. More than 150 judges from 21 countries chose this year’s finalists from nearly 800 submissions.

Among the UK companies shortlisted, Fizz Creations has two nominations in Best Licensed Product Appliances, Electronics & Housewares for a Corporate Brand for its Tetris Wafflemaker and its Tetris x Samsung Fridge Storage Stackers, while Half Moon Bay has been named in Best Licensed Product Appliances, Electronics & Housewares for an Entertainment Brand for its Peaky Blinders drinkware.

Following on from its two nominations in the B&LLAs, Floral Street Fragrances is shortlisted in Best Licensed Product – Health and Beauty Aids for its Van Gogh Sunflower Pop Eau de Parfum, while Mad Beauty has picked up two nominations in the category for its Friends Soap Dish & Bath Range and its Winnie the Pooh Bath & Body Line.

Paladone‘s Minecraft Building Block Lights are in the running in Best Licensed Product Home Décor, while evergreen preschool favourite Peppa Pig is named in Best Licensed Brand – Animated Entertainment, Character, Toy Brand.

Transport for London has been given the nod in Best Licensed Brand – Corporate Brand; Natural History Museum and V&A have both been shortlisted in Best Licensed Brand – Museum, Art & Design; The Point.1888 is in the running for Best Licensing Agency; and Asda and Ecologi’s Plant with Peppa Reforestation initiative has been named in Best Licensed Promotion.

In addition, Amy Winehouse has two nominations – in Best Licensed Brand – Lifestyle: Art, Design, Celebrity & Fashion and in Best Location-Based Entertainment for the Amy Winehouse Beyond the Stage at Design Museum, London.

Licensing International members will begin voting for the winners from today (11 April). Each member company will receive one ballot to vote on all 25 categories and voting will end on Friday 22 April.

The winners will be announced during the Licensing International Excellence Awards at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. The ceremony will take place on Monday 23 May at 5:30pm at The LIGHT Vegas Nightclub.
