Licensed names take their place in BAFTA’s Children & Young People Awards 2022

A raft of familiar licensed names from the worlds of TV, film, gaming and entertainment have taken their place in the nominations for this year’s BAFTA Children & Young People Awards.

The accolades are returning for the first time in three years, with the ceremony taking place at the Old Billingsgate in London on Sunday 27 November. It will be hosted by TV and radio presenter, Lindsey Russell.

The awards aim to be a celebration of the breadth and creativity of UK and international programming for children and young people spanning film, games and television, as well as the next generation of change-makers and innovators through a Content for Change category.

Silvergate’s Hilda lines up alongside Robin Robin from Aardman, The Snail and the Whale from Magic Light Pictures and The Tiger Who Came to Tea from Lupus Films in the Animation category.

Preschool hit Bluey (BBC Studios) is among the International nominees, while Hey Duggee (Studio AKA) and Pip and Posy (Magic Light Pictures) are both nominated in the Preschool – Animation category.

Meanwhile, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (TT Games/Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) is among the nominees in the Game category.
