HEAD welcomes new watch licensee to line-up

Sports equipment company adds Aion Time to licensing programme.

Sports equipment specialist HEAD has expanded its licensing programme with the addition of watch company, Aion Time.

The Italian timepiece company has signed a new deal to create watches for HEAD, with product roll out due to begin in Q4 this year.

There will be two main target areas – a more technical collection of digital watches with multiple sports functions (such as chronometer, pacer, pedometer, GPS and HRM), plus a lifestyle collection, with stainless steel chronograph.

In addition, there will also be a ‘smart’ model, which will feature integration with mobile apps and data interchange.

“Aion Time is the perfect partner to restart the iconic HEAD brand into the watch market,” said Giuseppe Faranna, vp division manager licensing at HEAD Sport GmbH, which owns the HEAD brand.

“We believe that Aion Time brings the combination of long lasting market knowledge and the ability to interpret our brand into this partnership and which is the reason that we believe that the watches will be a success.”

Tony Monopoli, general manager and co-founder of Aion Time, added: “We are excited about working alongside the HEAD team. As a young company it is an honour to have been chosen as the developers and licensee of the new HEAD watches collection.

“We couldn’t hope for a better partner thanks to its sport DNA, lifestyle attitude and minimalistic design.”
