New Sherlock set for January 1, 2016

Episode will be screened in over 100 UK cinemas as well as on BBC One.

The eagerly awaited new episode of Sherlock will be aired on January 1, 2016.

As well as BBC One, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride will be screened in more than 100 UK cinemas at the same time.

The one off episode – which is set in London in 1895 – will also be broadcast on PBS in the US on the same day as the UK screening for the first time.

The cinema screening will also include extra material including co-writer Steven Moffat giving a guided tour of 221b Baker Street, plus behind the scenes footage from the making of the episode.

It will be shown in all branches of Picturehouse cinemas and selected Odeon and Vue cinemas. Tickets will go on sale on November 2.
