Announcement comes hot on the heels of toy deal with Golden Bear for new brand.
An animated series for new brand Bush Baby World is on the way later this year, with investment from Brands with Influence, Golden Bear and creator Andrew Coates.
The first webisodes will be ready for distribution in June and are being produced by BWI, which is also representing the commercial rights to the brand worldwide.
Children’s writer Miranda Larson (who has previously written for Disney, Nickelodeon and CBeebies) is on board as lead writer, while the animation is being directed by CharacterShop (which also worked on Woolly and Tig).
As well as co-producing the new series, Golden Bear will be showing the first range of toys for Bush Baby World at London Toy Fair next week (January 24-26).
Barry Hughes, md of Golden Bear, commented: “We have always believed that this brand would work well across all media. The wonderful toys are full of character and now with Miranda’s great scripts they have literally been brought to life.
“We are looking forward to embarking on this new venture and watching how children engage with Bush Baby World across multiple platforms.”
Martin Lowde, md of Brands with Influence, added: “We have seen how effective online animation and streaming can be for building brands and driving children’s engagement with toys.
“When we developed the Bush Baby proposition we always saw it as a televisual concept. The original toys created by Andrew Coates came with such inherent cheekiness and spirit, it was an obvious step to develop this into an animated series.”
