Personalised babywear and gifting specialist looking to expand brand even further.

My 1st Years – the personalised babywear and gifting specialist – is looking to move into the US market, securing £5 million of funding to aid with expansion.

The company – which recently teamed with the Mr Men Little Miss brand for a range of clothing, accessories and furniture featuring the characters (pictured) – is operating with a £7 million turnover, according to website Fashion United.

The investment was secured by Beringea and supported with funds managed by investment group Hargreave Hale. Previous funding had been secured from high net worth individuals, including Lord Alliance, co-owner of fashiongroup N Brown.

The company launched in Harrods last month and is also available at John Lewis and Selfridges.
